Happy Sunday!
I’m thrilled to be resurrecting this little newsletter of mine, now on a new platform. I’ve become a Substack fan over the last year and am excited to contribute my own words to this community.
My hope and mission of this newsletter remains: simply to share with you the ups and downs of my week-to-week life as a Catholic executive, entrepreneur, wife, and mom.
A big change since I last wrote: My business partner, Claire, and I decided to pause operations at Ringlet and instead take on a new challenge: scaling my family business, JC Law. So far since we began in March 2023, we have opened a new office location in King of Prussia, PA and are just now starting operations in Fairfax, VA. The last year was filled with a lot of transitions. I started as VP and as of October, moved into the Chief Operating Officer role at JC Law, ensuring that all of our day-to-day business is running smoothly and optimized.
This life of being a working mom can be chaotic and sometimes lonely. I’m looking forward to recapping my week with you each Sunday and share lessons I’ve learned, products I’m loving, and family life building our little domestic church.
Onto the happenings of this past week! We got lots and lots of snow, something we haven’t had in the last two years. ❄️❄️❄️ The week started with time at home and some time away from work for MLK Day on Monday and then a late start at work on Tuesday because of the snow. Rosie absolutely loved the snow and stayed outside much longer than I expected.
Then on Wednesday afternoon, I flew to Irondale, Alabama to film with EWTN! Taryn and I are Co-Presidents of my second business, Catholic Women in Business, AND we are in the middle of writing a book together (you can learn more about that here). We were asked to appear on their show, Women of Grace, and it was such a joy to do so! Johnnette, the show’s host, was a force of nature and poured so much into our conversation.
I was scheduled to fly back to BWI on Friday morning but because of the prediction of more snow, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to land Friday evening. EWTN was amazing (thank you Veronica and Dotti!) and was able to switch my flight to Thursday evening. I landed safely into Baltimore by 8pm on Thursday. The girls and I had a lovely snow day at home on Friday and it was so good this weekend to get reset and prepped for the upcoming week.
Things I Loved This Week:
I’ve been wearing these pants to work the last few weeks and loooving them. They are so comfortable, it’s like wearing pajamas to work!
I snagged Jennifer Fulwiler’s “ One Beautiful Dream” at EWTN’s book store this week and I honestly didn’t expect to love it as much as I do! It’s exactly the book I needed in this season of life as a young working mom.
Since Hunter was working in the office yesterday, the girls and I trekked through the cold and wind to the mall. I had a giftcard to Sephora and braved the girls trying on each sample of lipstick to pick up Hanni Splash Salve. I tried it last night and our perilous trip was 100% worth it. The salve definitely helped my extremely dry skin after traveling.
That’s all for now! Short and sweet. Know that I’m praying for you!
